Toronto-Winnipeg 'Under' 47 (10 Units)

There is no point taking a side in this game for the simple reason that the Toronto Argonauts played well enough (defensively) to win against Calgary last week in their season opener but some late turnovers blew up the score and the game was actually tied with only a few minutes left but the Stamps recovered a fumble on the final play of the game and scored to make things look worst than they actually were. The bottom line for me is that the Argonauts defense is one of the best in the CFL and it always has been. Most of those 30 points against Calgary were the result of the offense turning over the ball or special teams failing on coverage assignment. Calgary managed only 11 first downs all game long compared to Toronto's 28 first downs in the game but somehow won the game by 14 points in the end. It's scary to think that Winnipeg scored 49 points in their home opener last weekend because they scored more in one game than tonight's total for the game but Hamilton's defense was horrendous and Winnipeg has another thing coming of they think they can get away with that against the Argonauts defense. On the offensive side of things despite the 28 first downs, QB Cleo Lemon looked lost and tonight is his last chance. You can look at their matchup late in the year all you want and see that these two teams scored 53 points here in Winnipeg but that was at the end of the season when both teams had their game on and right now it's still too early to be betting on OVERs until the offenses have a chance to settle down. When Toronto went to Winnipeg last July (and not last September), the teams combined for 24 total points in a 19-5 Argonauts win. QB Buck Pierce was awesome in the first game for Winnipeg (his debut here) but again the Argonauts defense allows only 8.1 yards per pass attempt, they have a very good pass rush and they will make the Bombers pay for their missed assignments. Winnipeg's defense was equally good last week allowing only 6.2 yards per pass attempt and for a guy like Lemon who averaged only 6.9 yards per pass attempt, this could be a long night. I expect a ton of Field Goals in this one and we might not see a touchdown all night.

Trend of the Game: The UNDER is 8-1 in the last nine meetings between these teams.

Winnipeg 21, Toronto 13

Hi Mista, I like the under too but I am sitting this out.

You might want to check your stats again, you got the first down thing backwards.
